Cleveland State University Theatre and Dance Spring Dance Concert
Playhouse Square 1501 Euclid Avenue, ClevelandCleveland State University’s (CSU) Department of Theatre and Dance will host its spring dance concert Feb. 20–22 at Playhouse Square’s Allen Theatre. A celebration of form, motion and creative collaboration, the concert offers a fresh perspective on contemporary dance in Cleveland. Under the direction of Michele Ainza, CSU director of dance, the concert will feature performances by the CSU Dance Company and include original works choreographed by students, faculty and guest artists. CSU’s School of Music will perform the opening piece, “Set and Reset,” with musical direction by Katalin La Favre. In alignment with CSU’s mission, the annual concert centers around student learning opportunities while bridging ties with the community. Students are active participants in the creative process of choreography, performance and production. Tickets are $5–$20 and can be purchased at playhousesquare.org, by calling 216-241-6000 or in person at the State Theatre Ticket Office. CIM Black Student Union Benefit Concert
Sunday, February 22, 2026 7:00 PM Cleveland Institute of Music – Mixon Hall Presented by the CIM Black Student Union, this special concert features dynamic performances by CIM students, faculty, and guest artists, highlighting the artistry and innovation of Black and Brown classical musicians and composers. More than a performance, this evening serves as a powerful celebration of Black excellence and the enduring impact of these artists on classical music. Ticket Information Free | $25 suggested donation All proceeds go to the Black Student Union’s Student Assistance Fund, which provides emergency funds for our students. The fund helps with essential expenses such as travel, competition fees, instrument repairs, and other costs that often create barriers for young musicians pursuing their art.
