Since we started the program\, Reporting From Where We Live\, in 2021\, we have trained more than 50 residents to tell stories from their neighborhoods on the digital pages of thelandcle.org. To celebrate the graduation of a new cohort and this amazing milestone\, we invite you to celebrate with us! \nOn Saturday\, March 25\, 11am – 12pm\, we will meet at the beautiful new Hough Branch Library at 6530 Lexington Ave\, Cleveland\, 44103 to congratulate recent graduates\, network with neighborhood leaders\, and get to know The Land’s community journalists better. \nFeatured guests \nSharon Core\, a resident of Slavic Village\, will introduce and read from her article Sidaway Bridge nominated for landmark status\, raising hopes for redevelopment and green space. \n  \nCharlotte Morgan\, the creator of the Reporting from Where We Live course\, will introduce The Land’s community journalism program and host the event. \n  \nMoses Ngong\, a Detroit Shoreway resident\, will introduce and read from his article Out Fitness Collective offers affirming\, inclusive workout space for LGBTQ+\, allied community. \n  \nLa Queta Worley\, representing the Central community wherever she goes\, will introduce and read from her article Paul’s Serv-Rite Food Market is a cornerstone of community in the Central neighborhood. \n  \nBonus! DESCRIPTION:We invite members of The Land to attend One World Day on August 28\, 2022\, and join our informal Brookside Chat on the Doan Brook with Matt Scharver\, Deputy Director of Watershed Programs with the Northeast Oho Regional Sewer District. \nLearn more about the ongoing importance of Doan Brook\, which flows along MLK Jr. Drive to Lakie Erie\, and its restoration and health as a historical waterway that helped shaped Cleveland. \nThe event is free for members of The Land and takes place during One World Day. Meet us on the lawn immediately north of the St. Clair Ave. bridge on MLK Jr. Drive. The chat will begin at 3:30. Bring your own seating if you want to sit\, or be ready for a standing meetup. The event will take place rain or shine. We are bringing our umbrellas just in case! Registration is required for headcount purposes. \nWondering about parking? Look here for information on getting to One World Day. Going strong for 76 years\, One World Day has been the official event of the Cleveland Cultural Gardens since 1946\, celebrating over 100 years of Peace Through Mutual Understanding. You  can eat\, drink\, learn about\, and be entertained in 30+ gardens and event venues throughout the day. From the naturalization ceremony at 11am followed by the Parade of Flags at noon to the closing performance by the Moises Borges Band\, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. SUMMARY:Meet the entrepreneurs driving Cleveland's circular economy
DESCRIPTION:Join The Land for a conversation with neighbors advancing Cleveland’s circular economy as part of our Tour The Land series.\nCircular Cleveland is a new initiative led by the nonprofit Cleveland Neighborhood Progress (CNP) and the city of Cleveland. Its goal is to promote the circular economy as a way of helping the environment and creating jobs and economic opportunity at the same time. The circular economy aims to keep materials in circulation as long as possible and out of the waste stream. \nLast year\, CNP and the city won a $476\,000 grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to develop a circular economy roadmap that will help the city achieve its climate action plan and sustainability goals. CNP and the city have so far recruited ambassadors\, funded small demonstration projects\, and held community workshops. They’re set to release the roadmap in late July. \nCome learn the latest with Circular Cleveland\, how the Bibb administration is tackling climate change\, and how neighborhood leaders are equitably improving their communities.\nPanelists: \n\nDeb Smith\, Clean Garbage Recycling\, Tremont\nPaula Coggins\, Oh Sew Powerful\nTrishelle Robinson\, King’s Closet\nSharie Renee\, Cleveland Sews / Cosmic Bobbins\nKatie Dugan\, Old Brooklyn Recycles\nCathi Lehn\, Sustainable Cleveland manager\nRon Shelton\, High Art Fridays (invited)\n\nRepresentatives from Circular Cleveland\, Cleveland Neighborhood Progress\, and the city of Cleveland will also be there to answer questions. \nThis is a free event but registration is required. \nAlso\, there will be FREE ICE CREAM!
