DESCRIPTION:The annual Ingenuity Bal is a whimsical gala unlike anything else in town\, supporting Ingenuity’s year-round programming. Once known as the Bal Ingenieux\, the event pays homage to Cleveland’s exclusive arts club that dominated modernist arts in the city from the 1910s until the 1940s. The Kokoon Club’s annual “Bal Masque” challenged artistic norms with the most unconventional parties around. \nOn May 9\, Ingenuity Bal 2026: Daydreamery will kick off Ingenuity’s festival season with performances\, art\, participatory experiences and more to celebrate hope\, progress and the shared dreams of our creative community\, while celebrating the vast tapestry of ideas and perspectives that make us special. \nEnjoy delightful snacks and cocktails while mingling and dancing with IngenuityLabs members\, Ingeneers\, Ingenuity Board Members\, and the rest of the eclectic Ingenuity family and friends. DESCRIPTION:The day begins at 10:00 a.m. with Circle Village on Wade Oval\, presented by University Circle Inc. Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in interactive activities offered by esteemed institutions from the area\, such as the Cleveland Orchestra\, Cleveland Botanical Garden\, and the Music Settlement. \nThe Cleveland Museum of Art’s (CMA) Parade the Circle\, the beloved tradition celebrating art\, culture\, and community\, returns on Saturday\, June 13\, 2026. The 34th annual parade takes place in University Circle and features vibrant and imaginative costumes\, towering puppets\, floats\, and intricately crafted masks. This year’s event coincides with the CMA’s 110th anniversary as an institution and the United States Semiquincentennial. \nThis year’s theme\, “Momentum\,” is inspired by the special exhibition American Printed Silks\, 1927–1947\, the lived experience of acclaimed lead artist Héctor Castellanos Lara\, and the legacy and evolution of our creative community. Those interested in participating are highly encouraged to view the exhibition. \n“I grew up between sewing machines. Surrounded by women\, transforming fabric to be worn. Hands\, colors\, and patterns chasing one another. My own strike of marbles clacking from the patio\, at play. \nThe exhibition American Printed Silks took me back to that room in Guatemala\, our own little industrial garment revolution\, my childhood home. Much like the textile designers of the early to mid-1900s\, I draw inspiration from the museum and use lived experiences to define my visual language. Our stories—some of sacrifice and resilience—are momentous and unyielding. \nBreathless and energized\, our own momentum pushes us to innovate. Let’s harness the power of this creative energy together\, express ourselves\, and keep celebrating. Creativity in motion stays in motion. What story will you bring to the parade?” \nParade the Circle\, which was founded by the CMA in 1990 with a small number of artists\, has since grown to become a treasured large-scale event\, drawing crowds in the tens of thousands every June. Families\, friends\, neighbors\, community groups\, churches\, artists\, performers—everyone is welcome to express their creativity\, show their talent\, and celebrate the arts at Parade the Circle. The fundraiser brings together community leaders\, supporters\, and partners to advance social and environmental justice throughout Northeast Ohio. The event features food stations\, live music by Up’Til4\, silent auctions\, the wine pull and a dessert dash\, each designed to engage guests while supporting the mission. \nNow in its fifth year\, the Garden Gala is expected to sell out and aims to raise funds to support CLC’s mission of building healthier\, more equitable communities through collaboration\, education\, and collective action. DESCRIPTION:The Cleveland Museum of Art’s (CMA) 15th annual Solstice\, the city’s most anticipated summer spectacular\, takes place on Saturday\, June 20\, from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Celebrating long summer days and hot summer nights\, Solstice combines music\, art\, dance\, and fun for an unforgettable evening. Experience the CMA late into the night when galleries stay open\, with flash talks presented by museum staff in select galleries\, and visit the CMA’s ticketed exhibitions\, Manet & Morisot and Martin Puryear: Nexus. \nAll-inclusive tickets—covering admission as well as unlimited appetizers and beverages\, including beer\, wine\, and canned cocktails—go on sale for members at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday\, April 22\, followed by the public sale at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday\, April 23. This event is for guests 21 or older. Early ticket purchasing is recommended as this event is expected to sell out. \nThis year\, Solstice’s main stage is a vibrant celebration of North America’s multicultural mosaic. Cirque FLIP Fabrique (Canada) kicks off the outdoor entertainment on the museum’s south terrace with acrobatics performed on top of a retrofitted school bus. Then\, live music sets from Daymé Arocena (Cuba)\, Son Rompe Pera (Mexico)\, and Nik West (United States) follow. These three electrifying musical acts showcase African diasporic party music\, including Afro-Latin jazz\, cumbia\, and funk. NicNacc and Eso\, two prolific Cleveland-based DJ’s famous for their monthly dance parties\, take over the atrium.
