Jacquie Gillon remembered for Black environmental activism, inclusion

Cleveland environmental activists and community leaders are remembering the legacy of Jacquie Gillon, an environmental activist who served on East Cleveland City Council, co-founded the Black Environmental Leaders association, worked on Western Reserve Land Conservancy’s Thriving Communities program and mentored 29 classes through the Neighborhood Leadership Institute. Gillon passed away this week at the age of 65 due to complications from illness.
