Cleveland City Council modified and approved legislation proposed by the Bibb administration that will make some changes at the West Side Market. The updates include capping rental rate increases, allowing for longer-term and shorter-term leases and permitting alcohol sales.

A partnership between Knez Homes and Jim Miketo, owner of Forest City Shuffleboard, is planning to build eight new upscale townhomes at Lorain Avenue and West 47th Street. In addition to being the first new homes to be built on Lorain, the units also contain first floor flex spaces that are designed for entrepreneurs or people working from home.
In early 2020, west side residents celebrated the completion of a new, long-awaited, $8 million streetscape on Fulton Road in Cleveland’s Ohio City and Clark-Fulton neighborhoods. Ohio City Inc. and Tremont West Development Corporation have teamed up to form the Near West Land Trust with a mission to increase permanent, affordable housing in the midst of a hot housing market. The two nonprofit community development groups have plans to build 40 new, single-family homes on vacant lots scattered throughout Ohio City, Clark-Fulton and Tremont.
