Cleveland History Center MLK Day event – Free admission
January 19 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
The Cleveland History Center will open on Monday, January 19 – MLK Day, 10am to 4pm. We will offer free admission all day with $3 rides on the Euclid Beach Park Grand Carousel. All exhibits will be open. Weber’s Premium Custard will be on site selling Euclid Beach Vanilla and Higbee’s Frosted Malt.
In addition to the ongoing museum exhibits, we will have special material on view in the Library related to Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and other material from the African American History Archive. Members of the WRHS Genealogical Committee will be onsite to assist visitors with access to Ancestry Library and other family history resources. This is a great way to begin a family history research project.
Guests are also invited to “Coffee, Cocoa, and Community Conversations” at 12pm. Seating is at capacity but a zoom option is available. Email Dr. Regennia Williams for information.
Join us in the Crawford Rotunda at 1:30pm to celebrate students from Cleveland School of the Arts and their new installation of artwork featuring Tuskegee Airmen. This Cleveland Heroes Project honors the courage and legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen – heroes who transformed both military and civil rights history.
