Longevity and Purpose: Keys for Living to 100 and Beyond
October 29, 2025 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
The Maltz Museum invites the community to a special free program, Longevity and Purpose: Keys for Living to 100 and Beyond, on Tuesday, October 29, at 1:00 PM.
This inspiring conversation brings together two extraordinary individuals—103-year-old Dr. Howard Tucker, the world’s oldest practicing physician, and Albert Ratner, esteemed philanthropist and business leader approaching his centennial—to explore what it truly takes to live long, purposeful lives. The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Michael Roizen, Chief Wellness Officer Emeritus at Cleveland Clinic and one of the nation’s leading authorities on aging and longevity.
At the Maltz Museum, combating hate and fostering human connection are at the core of our mission. This event reflects that commitment, exploring the profound link between emotional well-being, social connection, and physical health. Through the stories of Dr. Tucker and Mr. Ratner, attendees will discover how purpose, optimism, and community engagement can transform not only how long we live—but how fully we live.
Dr. Tucker credits his longevity to a life centered on curiosity, humor, and compassion. His guiding principles are simple but profound: don’t smoke, don’t hate, and don’t retire unless you have to. He emphasizes that hatred harms the person who harbors it more than anyone else, and that maintaining a spirit of love and engagement is vital to both mental and physical health.
Albert Ratner’s philosophy centers on what he calls the “3 P’s”: Purpose, Playfulness, and Posse. For him, having a reason to get up each morning—whether helping others, mentoring, or simply staying curious—is key to vitality. “When you ask, ‘What can I do to help you?’” he says, “you make your own challenges feel lighter.”
Dr. Roizen will bring his groundbreaking research to the discussion, sharing how medical advances and lifestyle choices can add decades to our lifespans. Together, these voices will offer practical, inspiring insights into how we can all live longer, more meaningful lives.
A Q&A session will follow the discussion, allowing attendees to engage directly with the speakers.
