The Cleveland Museum of Art’s (CMA) Parade the Circle, the beloved tradition celebrating art, culture, and community, returns on Saturday, June 14. The 33rd annual parade takes place in University Circle and features vibrant and imaginative costumes, towering puppets, floats, and intricately crafted masks. This year’s theme, “Magical Allure: A Vibrant Celebration of the Snowy Owl,” addresses the wisdom and exploration we undertake while undergoing the process of change. The CMA invites everyone to celebrate this mystical messenger, a creature that enchants us with its ethereal presence and silent flight. Conceived by acclaimed artist Héctor Castellanos Lara, who leads the parade for the third consecutive year, this year’s theme reflects the fact that big changes in our lives are imminent and that, as we search for answers, we undergo a process of deep exploration, seeking awareness and spiritual guidance. Parade kicks off at 12:00 p.m. at the north entrance of the Cleveland Museum of Art.
Celebrate long summer days and hot summer nights at the Cleveland Museum of Art’s (CMA) 14th annual Summer Solstice festival on Saturday, June 21, from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Solstice, Cleveland’s most anticipated summer spectacular, which combines music, art, dance, and projections, features performances by international bands on the museum’s outdoor south terrace and nationally recognized DJs in the Ames Family Atrium. All-inclusive tickets—covering admission as well as unlimited appetizers and beverages, including beer, wine, and canned cocktails—go on sale for members at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, April 28, followed by the public sale at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29. This event is for guests 21 or older. Early ticket purchasing is recommended as this event is expected to sell out. This year, Solstice’s main stage features live music sets with a lot of brass instruments and horn sections. Audiences can sonically travel the globe visiting New Orleans, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Spain, and more. Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio will hold its annual Race for Kids on Saturday, June 21 at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. The event includes a 5K run, a 1-mile walk, kids activities and all-day zoo admission. All runners and walkers receive an official race T-shirt. Early Bird registration pricing runs through May 31. Cost is $25 for the 5K run, $22 for the 1-mile walk and $20 for the virtual 5K or walk. Family and group pricing is also available.
