Descendants Day Picnic at Soldiers’ & Sailor’s Monument
As part of the nationwide celebration of America 250, the Soldiers’ & Sailors’ Monument will host a Descendants Day Picnic on Sunday, July 19. Descendants of the men and women honored on the Monument's walls are invited to gather, share family histories, explore regimental stories, create name rubbings from the memorial tablets, and enjoy a community picnic on the Monument grounds. The event offers a unique opportunity to connect personal family stories with the broader history of Cuyahoga County's Civil War veterans. Habitat Walk Run Mosey for Homes
It’s time to start stretching! The Habitat Walk, Run, Mosey is Saturday, July 18th@ Edgewater- and it’s FREE to participate. Three ways to participate- 5K run/walk OR a 1-mile fun walk OR come for fellowship and have a coffee and donut with us. We also have the signature t-shirt decorating and morning yoga to center us —so we can have maximum FUN…and we would not forget the pups. There will be a tent with water and snacks for our fourlegged friends.
Solstice at the Cleveland Museum of Art
The Cleveland Museum of Art’s (CMA) 15th annual Solstice, the city’s most anticipated summer spectacular, takes place on Saturday, June 20, from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Celebrating long summer days and hot summer nights, Solstice combines music, art, dance, and fun for an unforgettable evening. Experience the CMA late into the night when galleries stay open, with flash talks presented by museum staff in select galleries, and visit the CMA’s ticketed exhibitions, Manet & Morisot and Martin Puryear: Nexus. All-inclusive tickets—covering admission as well as unlimited appetizers and beverages, including beer, wine, and canned cocktails—go on sale for members at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 22, followed by the public sale at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 23. This event is for guests 21 or older. Early ticket purchasing is recommended as this event is expected to sell out. This year, Solstice’s main stage is a vibrant celebration of North America’s multicultural mosaic. Cirque FLIP Fabrique (Canada) kicks off the outdoor entertainment on the museum’s south terrace with acrobatics performed on top of a retrofitted school bus.
