Celebrate with us: The Land has trained more than 50 community journalists!
Hough Branch Library 6530 Lexington Avenue, Cleveland, OHThe Land has been working to increase community journalism skills so residents can report from where they live. Since we started the program, Reporting From Where We Live, in 2021, we have trained more than 50 residents to tell stories from their neighborhoods on the digital pages of thelandcle.org. To celebrate the graduation of a new cohort and this amazing milestone, we invite you to celebrate with us! On Saturday, March 25, 11am - 12pm, we will meet at the beautiful new Hough Branch Library at 6530 Lexington Ave, Cleveland, 44103 to congratulate recent graduates, network with neighborhood leaders, and get to know The Land's community journalists better. Featured guests Sharon Core, a resident of Slavic Village, will introduce and read from her article Sidaway Bridge nominated for landmark status, raising hopes for redevelopment and green space. Charlotte Morgan, the creator of the Reporting from Where We Live course, will introduce The Land's community journalism program and host the event. Moses Ngong, a Detroit Shoreway resident, will introduce and read from his article Out Fitness Collective offers affirming, inclusive workout space for LGBTQ+, allied community.
