The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, in partnership with the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities, is taking steps to help those facing these challenges enjoy their time at the zoo without having to leave early.
In Cleveland, the National Weather Service warns heat indexes will climb into the 100-degree range from Saturday into Wednesday. Temperatures are unlikely to cool off much overnight, contributing to increasingly warm conditions.
“We want to educate people about 988,” said Latoya Hunter Hayes, the ADAMHS board’s chief of external affairs. “It’s been in place for going on three years, and while recognition of 988 is growing, there are still a lot of people who need to know it’s a resource that’s available.”
