City Council President Kevin Kelley has represented Old Brooklyn for 16 years. He gave up his seat in favor of a mayoral bid, and now two candidates hailing from the nonprofit sector, Kate Warren and Kris Harsh, seek to take his spot. While their experience seems similar, Harsh emphasizes hands-on, hyperlocal solutions while Warren focuses on legislative change that could bring Old Brooklyn up along with the rest of Cleveland.
Along with the many issues facing Cleveland as a whole, Ward 4’s city council candidates also have to address the scars left by the corruption of their community’s longtime council representative.
Early voters in need of rides to the polls are in luck. Two local nonprofits are offering transportation for early voters. Cleveland Votes has rides available now through Nov. 2, and VoterDrive will have rides available from Oct. 30 to Nov. 2.
