Check up on the latest mayoral forums and other upcoming election-related events in Cleveland.
With Cleveland’s general elections approaching fast, organizations across the city have steadily announced mayoral forums probing candidates Kevin Kelley and Justin Bibb on a litany of Cleveland issues.
In response to the flurry of these forums and other election-related events, The Land will regularly compile and update a list of events as we hear of them.
Here’s what we’ve got so far:
Mayoral Forum on Housing
Tuesday, Oct. 5th at 12:30pm
This virtual mayoral forum, featuring both Kevin Kelley and Justin Bibb, will focus on housing-related policies and issues. It’s sponsored by the Ohio Fair Lending Coalition and Cleveland State University’s Levin College of Urban Affairs. Audience questions will be taken, and attendance is free, but registration is required to receive a Zoom link.
Old Brooklyn Mayoral Forum
Tuesday, Oct. 5th at 6:30pm
1400 E. Schaaf Road, Brooklyn Heights
Local Chapter 4340 of the Communications Workers of America will host this forum featuring both Bibb and Kelley at its Brooklyn Heights headquarters. The forum will last an hour, after which the candidates will stick around for a meet-and-greet until 8:30 p.m.
Mayoral Debate
Monday, Oct. 11th at 7:30pm
Just as they did during the primaries, the City Club of Cleveland and Ideastream have partnered to bring viewers a mayoral debate ahead of the general election. Ideastream senior producer Rick Jackson will host the debate, joined by a panel of journalists: Ideastream reporter Nick Castele; Cleveland Documenters field coordinator Lawrence Caswell; and Crain’s Cleveland executive editor Elizabeth McIntyre.

Mayoral Debate Watch Party
Monday, Oct. 11th at 7:30pm
Cleveland Documenters already has a representative on the debate panel, so it decided to host a virtual watch party. The group will stick around after the debate as well, to recap the event. Attendance is free, but you’ll have to register to receive a Zoom link.
One-on-One Conversation with Justin Bibb
Wednesday, Oct. 13 at 12:00pm
In addition to the mayoral debate, the City Club of Cleveland has invited both candidates to speak individually. On this day, City Club CEO Dan Moulthrop will host a one-on-one conversation with Bibb.

One-on-One Conversation with Kevin Kelley
Friday, Oct. 14 at 12:00pm
In addition to the mayoral debate, the City Club of Cleveland has invited both candidates to speak individually. On this day, City Club CEO Dan Moulthrop will host a one-on-one conversation with Kelley.

Parks and Greenspace Mayoral Forum
Thursday, Oct. 14th at 6:00pm
The Cleveland Parks and Greenspace Coalition will host Bibb and Kelley on a virtual stage to hear their responses to the coalition’s vision for equitable parks access and development in Cleveland. Attendance is free, but you’ll have to register to receive a Zoom link. Viewers may submit questions on the registration form.
The Arts Vote
Monday, October 18 at 6 pm
The arts sector is a powerful voting force and change-making partner in Cleveland. How will the arts be integrated and considered in Cleveland’s future Mayoral administration? Be a part of this historic discussion and collective voice in support of arts and culture. Jeremy Johnson, President & CEO, Assembly for the Arts will facilitate this 90-minute forum.
