Santiago said her new acquaintences hailed from Columbia and had traveled all the way to Ohio to see the eclipse.
“I’ve met other Latinos in Euclid, but never met a family who came here for a specific event,” she said. “It was a celebratory encounter, a lot like the enthusiasm shared at a soccer match.”
