As you know, The Land participates in the annual NewsMatch campaign. This national effort promotes and supports local journalism efforts like ours. Through a network of national funders, NewsMatch provides match dollars to what local organizations like The Land can raise. The 2023 campaign, which took place in November and December, was a call to our readers seeking support for our in-depth journalism and our innovative Community Journalism program.
The Land’s readers responded and we are forever grateful! During this campaign, nearly 100 individuals signed up as members and contributed over $12,000. With the anticipated NewsMatch dollars added in, The Land raised approximately $24,000 in this important year-end fundraising push.
These funds represent an important – and significant – portion of The Land’s operating budget. Your readership and contributions are truly appreciated. It’s because of your support that we can continue covering important economic development issues in our community.
