Thanks to readers like yourself The Land was able to raise more than $13,000 during its end-of-year fundraising campaign in 2023. Those funds were then matched through a program called NewsMatch — meaning you helped The Land raise more than $26,000 in 2023 and early 2024.
The NewsMatch campaign promotes and supports local journalism throughout the nation. A network of national funders provide matching dollars to organizations like The Land to bolster our fundraising efforts. Our 2023 campaign took place in November and December and called on readers to support our in-depth journalism and innovative Community Journalism program.
Our grant was made possible by generous donors to the Miami Fund’s Fund for Nonprofit News including Democracy Fund, Heising-Simons Foundation, Inasmuch Foundation, Independence Public Media Foundation, John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, Jonathan Logan Family Foundation, Joyce Foundation, Kaphan Foundation, Loud Hound, Maida Lynn, Present Progressive Fund at Schwab Charitable, Vere Initiatives, Walton Family Foundation, William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, and Wyncote Foundation, along with supporting partners across the U.S.
