Whether you’re looking to burn off turkey, turn your sights to end-of-year holidays, or simply party, we’ve compiled a list of events for you to check out in Cleveland this Thanksgiving.
The Cleveland Turkey Trot – Nov. 28 – From 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., at Public Auditorium, the annual Cleveland Turkey Trot will send runners through the city ahead of their holiday meal. There is a registration fee, but there are also options for people who want a competitive run or a leisurely stroll to start their day. Get more details on the event website.
Wild Winter Lights – Now through Dec. 30 – The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo will be lit up by more than 1.5 million lights this holiday season. Guests can explore holiday-themed areas like the Enchanted Forest, Swan Lake, Candy Lane, Polar Pathway, and Santa’s North Pole Lodge.
Cleveland Winterland – Nov. 30 – This all-day event (which technically runs from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.), will be held at Public Square. Formerly known as Winterfest, this holiday celebration includes lights, decorated trees, caroling, live music, hot cocoa and fireworks.
Wade Oval Ice Skating – Dec. 1 – The ice skating rink at Wade Oval opens on Dec. 1 and will remain open until Feb. 25. There’s a $5 admission fee throughout the season. All tickets include a skate rental. There are also holiday snacks, hot drinks, and adult beverages available for purchase.
Chamber Music in the Atrium: A Musical Interlude for the Holidays – Dec. 8 – The Cleveland Museum of Art is hosting this free event from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Dec. 8. That evening’s program will be titled, “A Musical Interlude for the Holidays,” and will feature musicians from the Musical Upcoming Stars in the Classics and graduates of the Cleveland Institute of Music. Some selections will be accompanied by dancers from the Cleveland Ballet.
