Yet at the same time, right now it’s impossible to organize a simple block party in the city of Cleveland. That will soon change, as the city announced Thursday, April 29th that it will begin permitting large outdoor events.
On Thursday, April 29, organizers of Cuyahoga County Office of Reentry’s Reentry Week 2021 held a virtual Cash Mob Interview Tour that aimed to raise $2,500 for formerly incarcerated small business owners.
The Scottish-based craft brewery Brewdog announced details of their “massive outdoor beer garden and outdoor space on the river” at a recent meeting of the Cleveland Planning Commission on Friday, April 16th.
The Cleveland Landmarks Commission on March 11 approved a new master plan for Urban Community School, including a public plaza facing Lorain Avenue, additional landscaping, a north-south pedestrian walkway, and wayfinding signage to enhance connectivity.

The Centennial project aims to address that by offering workforce housing that is accessible to those earning 50-80% of area median income.
Business leaders are optimistic that employees will return to work this year, but they know that office space will look and feel different when they do. They’re offering more flexible work hours, physically distanced spaces, building improvements like air filtration systems, and amenities in order to bring people back downtown again.
A property exchange agreement between the city of Cleveland and Cleveland Metropolitan School District will pave the way for a new Marion C. Seltzer Elementary School at Cudell Commons and open up development opportunities on the east and west sides.
The 80,000-square-foot “Pivot Center for Art::Dance::Expression” unites arts and social services, including a program led by a victim of a notorious kidnapping nearby. Gina DeJesus helps families like hers on the same square block where she was held captive for nine years.
Platform Beer Co. has plans to spruce up its pandemic-inspired beer garden on Lorain Avenue and make it a permanent fixture of the local beer scene by adding seating, restrooms, a bar area and a space to sell merchandise.
