July 4th events in Cleveland: Find ways to celebrate Independence Day near you

Independence Day will be celebrated on Thursday, July 4th, this year. If you’re looking for a chance to go out and enjoy the holiday, we’ve rounded up a list of some events happening in Cleveland and surrounding communities.

A few upcoming events:

  • Light up the Lake – July 4th – Fireworks will begin at sundown and continue for approximately 20 minutes, according to Downtown Cleveland. Fireworks will be visible from places like Gordon Park, Edgewater Park, the Flats, Voinovich Bicentennial Park, Kirtland Park, and more.
    • The City of Cleveland said residents going to Edgewater Park to watch the fireworks should ” allow plenty of time for travel. If you plan to drive to Edgewater Park to watch the fireworks display, please be aware that intermittent road closures are very likely.”
  • Goodtime III Fireworks Cruise – July 4th – The family-friendly cruise runs from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on July 4th.
  • Lady Caroline July 4th Cruise – The fireworks cruise runs from 7:30 p.m. until midnight (it is now sold out). There’s a lunch cruise from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m.
  • Lakewood July 4th Parade & Celebration – The city’s annual parade celebration begins at 10 a.m. and festivities continue until fireworks at approximately 9:45 p.m. at Lakewood Park.
  • Parma July 4th Parade Celebration – Parma’s annual July 4th parade will be held from 10 a.m. till noon, according to the city’s police department page.
  • Cleveland Guardians vs the White Sox – July 2-5th – The Cleveland Guardians will host a fireworks show on July 3rd, following the conclusion of the team’s game against the visiting Chicago White Sox. The team will again have fireworks on July 5th when they play the San Francisco Giants.

Notably, the possession or use of fireworks are illegal in Cleveland without special permits. There will also be parking restrictions throughout the holiday in parts of the city.
