Sharon Core

Sharon Core is a recent resident of Cleveland, moving here to take the position of General Presbyter for the Presbytery of the Western Reserve. She currently lives in Slavic Village and is amazed by the history and promise of the neighborhood. Her day to day work takes her from Amherst to North Kingsville south to Medina and all points in-between. There are days when she wonders “If I had to do it all over again, I think I'd like to try my hand at journalism.” And thanks to The Land, the citizen journalist was born. Sharon shares life with her husband Nick and their black lab Sassy.

Sidaway Bridge nominated for landmark status, raising hopes for redevelopment and green space

With approval from the Cleveland City Planning Commission, the Sidaway Bridge, which has been closed since the 1966 Hough Riots, is one step closer to becoming a Cleveland landmark. In October, the bridge was added to the National Register of Historic Places. Advocates hope the recognition will spur improvements to the bridge and the land around it.
