Watch Sherrod Brown, Jon Husted Northeast Ohio campaign stops [Video]

Get footage directly from the latest stops in Greater Cleveland.

The contentious race to represent Ohio in the U.S. Senate saw two campaign stops in the northeast corner of the state this week. Sen. Jon Husted, Republican, visited Mentor, where he toured a manufacturing facility and accepted an endorsement from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. His challenger, former senator Sherrod Brown, Democrat, came to Cleveland to speak to supporters.

Quantus Insights released a poll this week analyzing the likeliest outcomes for the Husted-Brown showdown. The poll of 695 likely voters found the race effectively deadlocked.

“With roughly six weeks remaining, the survey finds a race open to either candidate. Brown’s support among unaffiliated voters keeps him competitive, while Husted’s strength among Republicans and rural voters keeps the contest level. The remaining undecided vote is more than sufficient to determine the outcome,” Quantus Insights wrote.

We are a non-profit created in 1979 by a then-new industry called cable television. Today, we remain true to our founding principles, providing gavel-to-gavel coverage of the workings of the U.S. Congress, both the House of Representatives and Senate, without editing, commentary or analysis.

Over the years, we’ve grown to be so much more than simply one television channel. You can find C‑SPAN on three television channels, online, on radio, in newsletters, through podcasts, on social platforms including X, Instagram , Facebook , TikTok , Threads and YouTube and on a mobile app, C‑SPAN Now. In addition to Congress, we’ve grown to cover a wide variety of public policy and political events from campaign stops to press briefings and panel discussions to author interviews. In so doing, we promote open and transparent dialogue between the public and their elected and appointed officials – and those campaigning for office.
