Marketing Fellowship for The Land

The Land Marketing Fellowship

The Land is a nonprofit digital news organization that reports on Cleveland’s neighborhoods. Through community-powered and in-depth journalism, we aim to foster accountability, inform the community, and inspire people to take action.

Growing in reach, The Land currently has some 50,000 monthly readers, via its website, free email newsletter, and social media channels. The Land’s current marketing priorities are 1) Growing the top of the funnel through conversions of social fans and followers to free email newsletter subscribers; 2) Converting free email subscribers to paid members; 3) Monitoring and minimizing email subscriber churn, and 3) Boosting paid member retention rates. The fellow will work to accomplish these priorities through testing tactics at each stage of the funnel (reach, engage, habituate) with emphasis on reader engagement, continuously monitoring what’s working and what’s not.
