Voters at cast their votes on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024.

UPDATE: Lakewood voters decided several major municipal races on Tuesday. While the results are unofficial until verified by the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections, we do have a clear idea of who the projected winners are.

In the Lakewood City Council at-large race, voters were tasked with choosing three candidates. The three top vote getters, according to the unofficial results, were Sarah Kepple (26 percent of the vote); Tom Bullock (25 percent of the vote); and Angelina Hamilton Steiner (22 percent of the vote).

In the Ward 2 race, Bryan J. Evans received 59 percent of the vote.

In the Lakewood Board of Education race, voters were asked to choose two candidates. The leading vote getters, according to the unofficial results, were Nora Katzenberger (28 percent) and Betsy Bergen Shaughnessy (26 percent of the vote). Katie Slife Rustad got 25 percent of the vote and Monica Bruaw got 21 percent.

The results were close, particularly between Shaughnessy and Rustad, and that could prompt a recount. A spokesperson for the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections said that determination won’t be made until the official results are certified.

The story below was posted Tuesday morning.
