The nonprofit organization Organic Connects provides programs ranging from field trips that teach kids how to fish to environmental internships for urban youth. In addition to helping city kids connect with the outdoors in Cleveland, the group also helps to train young people for future environmental careers.
Candidates for mayor of Cleveland shared their thoughts on a variety of environmental issues during a forum Wednesday evening focusing specifically on environmental justice.
On Friday, July 9th, Cleveland Metroparks celebrated the opening of the city’s most distinctive new playground: the Lindsey Family Play Space, a one-acre park that includes such unique features as boulders, water and sand, tunnels, climbing structures, a twisting slide, and shaded areas to rest.
The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority is offering free rides for all buses, rails, and Park-N-Rides from June 13-19. These free services were implemented to encourage existing and new riders to try the newly redesigned system, called NEXT GEN RTA.
All hail Cleveland’s king of rock and roll! This summer, London-based artist WRDSMTH will create a 2,200 square foot tribute mural to Michael Stanley on a warehouse building at 2630 Payne Ave. The artwork is part of the “How do I love thee” tour spearheaded by Graffiti HeArt, which will add 15 murals throughout Cleveland, Cleveland Heights, and Lakewood.
