More than 900 news organizations from around the nation applied to receive this funding. The Land is part of the first cohort of 205 news organizations, a bright mosaic of independent, nonpartisan sources that reimagine what local news looks like.
The Land recently worked with students at the Mastery School of Hawken, in University Circle, on their month-long challenge course. Over the course of three weeks, students from the high school worked on short documentary films focused on finding "under-reported and over-reported stories in Greater Cleveland."

More than 250 donors contributed to the daylong "Day of Giving." BGCNEO leaders are still determining how exactly to use the funds, but said the money will "enable us to serve more youth."

After losing nearly $3 million in federal funding, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio (BGCNEO) will shutter 22 locations ahead of the 2023-2024 school year, the organization announced on Wednesday.
