By the power of Grayskull, I have the power! Here is your #movienerdreport!
Two new films will be competing with “Backrooms” for top spot at the box office this weekend. As a child of the 80s I have to admit I am quite pumped for the reboot/remake of “Masters Of The Universe.” Nicholas Galitzine plays He-Man, and it also stars Idris Elba and Alison Brie.
The other big film opening this weekend is another relaunch of the horror spoof franchise “Scary Movie”. This is the sixth film in this series and the first one in 13 years! This one brings back original cast members Anna Farris, Regina Hall, and the Wayans Brothers.
Also opening is a feature that was the closing night film at the Cleveland International Film Festival in “Power Ballad.” The film stars Paul Rudd as a struggling musician and Nick Jonas as a faded boy band musician and it is directed by John Carney, who has made each of his films about musicians such as “Once,” “Begin Again,” and “Sing Street.”
Over at the Cedar Lee Theatre (2163 Lee Road Cleveland Heights, OH 44118):

It is the first Saturday of the month so also at the Cedar Lee they will have their monthly showings of Tommy Wiseau’s “The Room” and of course “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” both start at 10 p.m.
