The Land is honored to be among four news organizations that have been awarded one-year fellowships as part of the inaugural round of the Philanthropy & Nonprofit Accountability Fellowship.
The Land is thrilled to have been accepted into Hearken/Solutions Journalism Network’s Democracy SOS fellowship program, which aims to help newsrooms “experiment with new ways to strengthen democracy by working with and for the communities they serve.”
The Land recently talked with Hannah Davis, a senior journalism major at Kent State University and an intern with The Land and The NewsLab at KSU, about her background, what she hopes to learn by writing for The Land, and her obsession with Tik Tok.
Aja Hannah is a writer, traveler, and mama. Her articles have been featured nationally and internationally in publications like The Progressive, The Independent, and Hawaii Business Magazine.
With assistance from Report for America, The Land will hire a new reporter next year to bolster our in-depth, community-driven reporting.
The Land recently talked with Michael Indriolo, the first recipient of The Land’s Reporting Fellowship for Journalists of Color. Michael has been working with The Land since September and this check-in sheds some light on how the fellowship is going so far.
The Land and the Northeast Ohio Solutions Journalism Collaborative (NEOSOJO) were named finalists in the “Best Coronavirus Coverage” category of the Local Independent Online News (LION) Publishers’ Local Journalism Awards.
The Land is honored to be among the 30 newsrooms nationwide selected for the Meta Journalism Project’s US Reader Revenue Accelerator program, which begins later this month.
